Territory Manager (Northern California)

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for marketing Botanicare Products in California north of Monterey by building business relationships, increasing product sales, and training/developing retailer and distributor product knowledge through store visits and customer interface.

Duties:

  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in all duties.
  • Through store visits, calls, and emails - communicates directly with hydroponic retailers and distributors regarding the company and associated product lines, industry trends, product and price changes, orders, promotions, and etc.
  • Holds training sessions on product usage, dosage rates, potential profit margins, and product benefits in relation to competitors.
  • Provides customer service to retailers and end users; troubleshoots and resolves product issues, responds to general and technical product questions.
  • Professionally represents Botanicare at trade shows, retailer customer appreciation days, new store openings, and music festivals.
  • During store visits, evaluates, determines and implement strategies for promotional and marketing needs that strategically brands and markets Botanicare in territory.
  • Evaluates and recommends implementation of, and/or changes to, customers' product displays to ensure optimal product placement; markets and promotes Botanicare by providing samples, demo systems, displays, marketing material, and branding materials.
  • Observes industry indicators, communicates trends, and recommends strategies to management through weekly reports, direct phone calls, and scheduled sales meetings.
  • Composes product information to market product lines.
  • Recommends marketing and product change requests.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma.
  • 3 - 5 years of hydroponic retail management, sales, or product representative work experience.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Must submit to a criminal background check.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of hydroponic gardening and retail management required.
  • Knowledge of database system (i.e. Goldmine, MAS CRM, Microsoft Access, etc.)
  • Skills in relationship building.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writin.

Sales Management Assistant

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting in the management of sales functions, department needs, distributor and retailer logistics; reporting on sales activities; providing product support; and implementing marketing/sales strategies. Assists the VP and Director of Sales in day to day activities and communication.  

Duties:

  • Accomplishes department mission by completing related tasks as needed.
  • Researches and develops new business opportunities in emerging markets.
  • Participates in developing sales, marketing, and product strategies.
  • Monitors product costs, competition, and supply/demand.
  • Maintains customer database system; prepares and distributes weekly reports.
  • Provides sales vs. projection results by preparing and forwarding sales tracking reports.
  • Supports and assists in new product launches and discontinuations.
  • Prepares sales presentations by compiling data; developing presentation formats and materials.
  • Coordinates with operations on product and inventory needs/matters.
  • Resolves rebate and pricing discrepancies by researching details of regular and special prices; forwarding resolution to managers.
  • Coordinates with territory manager’s on orders, inventory problems, special requests and helps identify and implement solutions.
  • Updates territory managers by consolidating, analyzing, and forwarding daily action summaries.
  • Coordinates sales department campaigns and product launches.
  • Organizes logistics for sales meetings and customer events.
  • Communicates directly with key accounts regarding the company and associated product lines, industry trends, product and price changes, orders, promotions, and etc.
  • Provides customer service to retailers and distributors; troubleshoots and resolves product issues, responds to general and technical product questions.

  • Maintains and manages sales department time keeping.
