Yes experiencing low pH after adding Pure Blend Pro is completely normal. In it’s concentrated form Pure Blend Pro is very acidic which helps the product to remain stable during storage and maintain the original composition and quality of the formula.
We do not recommend this when growing in soil or coco coir, since it will kill off beneficial microorganisms that your plants need in the rhizosphere (root zone) to thrive. It is definitely counter-productive to use hydrogen peroxide with any of our products containing living, organic micro-organisms as it will kill them off.
Yes all 3 Pure Blend Pro formulas are water soluble and can be used in any type of hydroponic system.
All Botanicare coco is pre-buffered and rinsed before packaging to eliminate any salts. If you do wish to rinse Cocogro, use R.O. water and a 2:1 ratio of water to coco by volume to flush the soil before planting.
Cocogro is naturally aged, buffered with calcium nitrate.
Each 5kg bales requires 3 – 4 gallons of water to fully hydrate depending on slight variances between bricks.
After using Clearex to flush the medium resume regular feeding with your next scheduled watering to avoid nutrient deficiency or imbalance.
CNS17 Ripe is a complete base formula. Replacing CNS17 Bloom with CNS17 Ripe during the final two weeks before harvest reduces nitrogen while maintaining phosphorous and potassium within ideal ranges. This specialty formula encourages the plant to focus energy on ripening and swelling it’s fruits and flowers.
Due to its high PK value it is not advised to use a bloom stimulant with CNS17 Ripe as doing so may cause an imbalance. Bloom stimulants are safe with all other CNS17 formulas.
Pure Blend Pro is not organic and is not to be used in organic crop or organic food production.
Pure Blend Tea is a highly available supplemental nutrient for plants and can be added with many base nutrient systems. Pure Blend Pro is a top-of-the-line, complete one-part base nutrient system. At higher concentrations, Pure Blend Tea can be used as a base nutrient for light feeding plants like leafy greens or herbs, but it is not recommended as a complete nutrient for fast-flowering annuals.
Pure Blend Tea is a highly available supplemental nutrient for plants and can be added with many base nutrient systems. Pure Blend Pro is a top-of-the-line, complete one-part base nutrient system. It is not necessary to use Pure Blend Tea if using the Pure Blend Pro nutrient line.
The ideal water temperature in hydroponics is from 68°F – 75°F (20°C – 24°C). Oxygen is less available at higher temperatures.
When using Silica Blast, always add Silica Blast into your reservoir FIRST followed by Cal-Mag. If Silica Blast is not being used and Cal-Mag is, Cal-Mag should be added FIRST, then add the remaining nutrients.
If you are a beginning grower, it is best to follow the recommended feeding schedule for the base nutrients that you have chosen. You’ll find Pre-Developed Recipes right under the Nutrient Calculator on botanicare.com that we’ve tested and verified. Use our Nutrient Calculator as you gain more experience growing, as it gives growers a lot of flexibility.
Botanicare uses the .7 factor.
You will see from our labels that all of our bloom products contain high phosphorus and potassium levels (the P and K in NPK) which is what you want, particularly when growing in soil. In soils, beneficial microorganisms compete for potassium, so you need even more of it.
When mixing CNS17 into water with a temperature below 68° F (20° C) what appears as a separation may seem to occur. CNS17 works best when mixed with water temperatures ranging between 68°F – 75°F (20°C – 24°C). A quick and easy way to adjust for low water temperatures in the reservoir is to mix the desired dose with an equal amount of warm water before introducing it into a reservoir that contains water under 68° F. Excessive calcium often found in municipal or well water sources may also bind with the phosphorous in CNS17 causing it to precipitate and fall out of solution. For best results use CNS17 with reverse osmosis water.
When mixed into the nutrient solution, Silica Blast tends to increase the pH significantly. This is simply due to the chemistry of the silicate sources in the formula (potassium and sodium silicate), and is unavoidable. However, the increase in pH can easily be corrected by using pH Down or a similar product.
